There are multiple tariffs, it can get a little confusing as to what to switch to we are on the low end of the FIT payments but Good Energy wrote to us last year that at the end of this month the deemed export is going and only going to be actual export - not sure if other FIT providers will be the same.

These are the solar only export tariffs you can take up with Octopus

These are the differing combinations you can choose

As to what to choose - do you want to select and forget like with Flux or do you wish to take advantage with AGILE import and export taking a risk and altering according to the upcoming rates, bare in mind some modern in home tech can adjust to the flexible Agile tarrifs for you.

There are multiple Octopus comparison apps that can pull your usage data from your Octopus account and compare your historical usage accross the different tariffs to see what works best for you.

Some people have made hundreds of pounds playing the system importing at normal rates and deliberately emptying their batteries when the export rates are high. I am a little wary of switching at the moment as historically you do one thing and then they change the usage benefits to fit in with particular equipment that you have.
