The devastation is terrible to see. Especially when you realize that these are exactly the areas we will be driving through in February.

Thanks Herrie. Yes it's being awful. Worst floods in the last 50 years. Entire villages destroyed and dozens of deaths. And still counting (too many people still disappeared). gloomy

If I see the route you’re taking to join us in February, you’re going more into the interior. More West. Therefore, you won’t cross any of the real disaster areas, which are mainly on the Valencia coastal area. thumbs

I hardly suggest you pass through Cuenca. Have a look on the internet about this city. Worth a stop. And we know beautiful roads in the area we can tell you about. It doesn’t deviate you too much.

Another suggestion: do not enter Albacete. $#@& town it is…. LOL! Sorry if anyone from Albacete reads me! But drive around it or – if you plan to stop for a sleep – do it in its outskirts. Not a city to visit at all. In Spain we have a rude saying about Albacete: “Albacete, caga y vete.” Translated it means “Albacete, go to the toilet and go away.” LOL! innocent
