I was born and spent my childhood in east London all the public transport in those days in London was electric Trolley buses, the only diesel transport was the long distance Greenline buses. If only "they" had known
I have started using the bus to get into town (now that I have a bus pass
) should I need to go there, provided the weather is reasonably clement. Used a lot during my childhood in north Kent and Bucks. All diesels, so the annual 2 week holiday staying in Belfast with relatives was magical travel on trolley buses (until 1969 when they'd all sadly gone).
Good to see the expanding modern tram networks in some cities. I believe some of the old tram rails may still be under the tarmac in town here.
