If there is indeed a greater actuarial risk then I would think its inevitable, our Mini SE already costs (£600) nearly twice what the Land Rover or Morgan cost to insure (just over £300 each). It's a similar situation to Range Rover and Land Rover owners in some postcodes, where even JLR's own insurance company is either refusing cover or placing stupidly high premiums on owners.

On the other hand, if an insurance company with poor actuarial capabilities reacts inappropriately by overloading EV premiums, they will quickly be forced out of the market by others with a more nuanced risk management strategy.
