If that's true and Melvyn has bailed out, that's like the ravens leaving the tower of London.
There have been v strong rumours for some time that they might drop the Mog dealership. As I understand it MMC charge heavily for that. Richard Thorn left them for the same reasons.
Not only Uncle Melvin, Richard Thorne et al but also in my neck of the woods, Berrybrook, who will no longer stock new cars, although they will still remain Morgan specialists and, apparently, still be able to special order new cars directly from MMC.
They feel that the cost of stocking and ordering build slots is no longer justified, which now coincides with a fairly serious market downturn, that has already been discussed here. They have sufficient customers to keep their servicing side busy and already have a niche steam section, the largest in the country apparently and are building up their model division with a 1st floor on their portacabin! They are, as I understand it, soon going into the s/h spares side too, but I may be wrong on that one, time will tell.
