I've only found Harley Davidson can match that unique sense of ownership experience, and they are equally as flawed, hence I'm considering getting one of those shortly.
As I'm almost 75% done on my second I can concur with both comments. I'm looking forward to removing the exhaust just so I can top up the rear brake master cylinder.....
That made me smile. they are beautifully flawed. As soon as I got any new Harley (,the UK spec was actually the Swiss market spec for all of Europe.) I would immediately ( well I'd get someone to do it for me) junk the tyres, exhausts, stage one the carb, replace the electronic ignition, uprate the brakes even before taking it out the showroom and that was before buying all the accessories which were de rigor to make it more individual and my bike.
I remember carrying a jack in the saddlebags for years in case of a puncture, knowing full well there was no-way I could deal with it on my own, especially if it was the rear,.at the road side........but it made me feel a little more comfortable in the knowledge I might have all the tools ( and the added weight) I possibly could need, even though I doubt if I personally would have used them. Good fun and great times.
I'm looking at getting a fully loaded last of the evo engined Heritage Springers, all flash and no go with beautifully crafted springer front forks, solid mounted engine that will shake my fillings out at above 60/70 mph.
