I have driven both the CX and the trad but owned neither and therefore have no axe to grind. The difference between them is that the trad is genuinely an old car even if made recently. It crashes and bangs from pothole to pothole,. the chassis is very flexible which is as well because the suspension is limited and crude, the steering is weird to anyone used to modern cars and the accommodation is poor. The CX feels like a modern sports car and has the handling and performance to back that up. But the charm is missing and the obvious BMW bits in the trad style cockpit make it seem like a kit car.
There are many better modern cars than the CX. But the trad is simply out of date. I bought neither

There has been, continues to be and will always be a following for Morgans generally and trads in particular. CX's will probably expand their following as trad drivers become (even) more elderly and infirm.....😂
There's no right or wrong in Morgan ownership and if you try to rationalise them..... they make no sense whatsoever.... BUT... they are oddly addictive......😂
