The tank on the CX cars is smaller than on trads. From memory the trad had a 55l tank. The Plus Four has a 38l tank and there is reputedly a 33l "usable" volume. A bit of confusion!
It seems that 250 miles is a rule of thumb for range. On my car the fuel warning comes on when just below the 1/4 mark. The extra range left when this happens is a bit unknown. I have done 30 miles at this stage with a bit more for the needle to go.
Scotland trip just done. 2100 miles using 45(approx) gals = 46.7mpg. I will check this when I top up the tank next time but expecting a similar figure.
The quoted tank capacity is an anomaly. The handbook states 38l (approx). In theory this should, at 45mpg give a 376 mile range. HMMMM. The 33l figure reduces this to 327 miles. HMMMM.
The warning light is quoted in the handbook as leaving 6l left. This might be fairly accurate but is it to actual fuel or to a residual "sump" minimum. Is this where the 33l usable comes in? Surely this would be known by MMC? This why I use 250 miles as a guide. A friend with a Plus Six does the same. 250 miles at 45mpg =5.6 gals. - 25.4l That's 8l or 13l left. Which is it?
I think I need to do a proper mpg test again using miles v top up. I'll start with the next top up to get a Scotland trip mpg.
I WON'T be doing a run to empty test!

As an aside, no fuel issues for the trip. 550 miles home to hotel each way. I added one extra fuel stop to keep extra in the tank but fuel available everywhere. Cost per litre stayed the same over the 9 days at the same stops up and back.
Fuel on our daily runs not a problem.
The A9 north of Perth is having major work done through to 2029 in a couple of areas, looks like dual carriageway upgrade from 2-way. One short delay as traffic was stopped to allow works traffic to cross. No lights, just Stop/Go hand signs.
Next year....yes please!
