Keep up Lorne, crush or sealing washers are now available in assorted sizes in selection box's not just individually.
Of course they are. But assorted sets are only worth it you have many different size you will need for many different tasks. How many assorted crush washers does one really need for one odd sump plug on the Morgan variant of Rover Plus 8s and Morgan, as I noted, did nt change to the newer sumps for reasons given. The "special one" shown seems to be a Thorne "dry sump" which is unwise on a road car. Why buy large assorted sets of scores of specialized washers, most of which that will not fit. For me, an assorted set of generic plain non-crush washers, like RV6 posted is far more worth having around.[
b].but they are not task specific[/b]. It is always smart to have sets of different generic fittings about. Luddite will tell you that all mechanics, pro or tyro, save all sorts of fittings. We have barrels of them.

We even leave them to our offspring as if the filthy things are diamonds.
I buy
these crush washers 6-10 at a time for each car (two continents). Even with my high driving mileage, (the days I was mogging constantly) that lasted me many years for each car. BTW, I change my Plus 8s' oil with a decent mineral oil every 3000 miles or after storage for a long period. The insides of my engines are pristine.
And I do my own engine work. And Calypso,
there is not much need to "keep up" with engines they stopped making decades ago. I track only the major engine rebuilders, the ones I respect and enjoy.
