Yes lots has changed. The part of humanity (16%) we call the "developed world" has lost what skills it had. It has caused a plummet of all collector car residuals, most especially Morgan trads in the UK. And the Company, seeing this, has moved from the hands-on demographic to another
Of course, the guard has changed before and reversed after. But as one who never cared much what my Morgans were worth to others, I am very much enjoying the newbies crowding my inbox. These sweet souls have finally been able to afford their Morgan dream car,
assuming they can learn to deal with it themselves. As residuals plummet, repair and maintenance costs have sky-rocketed (which I applaud as we treated the savvy mechanics rather shabbily). However, there ARE those here that can attest to how cheap it is to maintain a trad if you possess a minor bit of knowledge. I would be surprised if Luddite has ever paid a thing to do so with his gorgeous Plus 8 since he purchased it! And there are others.
As the most effective binding glue for any social group is common need....trads should do well after they spin off, very much like the amazing Three Wheeler Club.
