Love the aero so much that I could not sell it. Its laid up at the moment primarly due to the much higher cost of the plus 8 insurance. I would love to own a Plus 8 but the cost of ownership would be prohibitive in Italy. If it makes you feel any better about the insurance cost I just forked out over €1,850 for full insurance on the Plus 4 Phew Peter puts the quote I got a couple of days ago for renewal of my 4/4 policy into perspective! £360.

DMJ.
The slightly unfinished nature of the Aero cars vs ££££ has been discussed many times. All I can advise if you go in frustrated and looking for a fight it will become a lot frustrating and you will end up hating something you so want to love. Been there, done that. It sucks like a toothless parrot.
Go in with the "I own this for now and am going to work with them to make it right and spotless so I can love it until someone else becomes the custodian."
The fact is the car has faults, if you let it drive you mad then it will be your decision. Mine still has a couple of niggles now. But I love it. (I would love a shiny silver Aeromax more but cannot afford it)
Sorry if that sounds glib because you are going mental, I can appreciate that. Not meant to offend.
Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.

... the quote I got a couple of days ago for renewal of my 4/4 policy ... £360. Useful info when my 4/4 is due for renewal. 'Course mine's just a Sport, no "super" (yet?) See you at Horton on Sat? (Please don't bring the snow ). Jeremy

The mods put on about £60 to the premium Jeremy...which isn't bad really. Some insurers though react rather badly to the very hint of modifications...as though you are a boy racer! I've been quite impressed with Morgan Insurance (Headley) over the past couple of years. Gott & Wynn gave me a slightly lower quote but would charge me an additional premium for trips up Shelsley Walsh and Prescott etc whilst Headley cover me without charge.
I'll be there Saturday!

Ooooh, I feel your pain! Been there before. Kept S1 car for two years. Loved the looks, loved the way it drives, could not ignore the sympathetics waves, admiration, the people on this forum and so forth. Grew to dislike its high unreliability, the slow response of the factory when parts were required, the casual (maybe complacent) attitude of the dealership. When I became worried that the car was spending too much time being fixed, or that it would develop a new problem every other month, or that it would rattle like my old 2CV, I decided that this was not the right car for me and sold it. Though I still love the drive, the way it looks, the people on this forum and so forth. Some here predicted that I would regret selling it. So far, no regret. It really requires to develop a very special love affair with Morgan to keep up with an Aero (both financially and psychologically). This sort of relationship did not work for me. No offense intended at all BTW. Am just giving a view. Best wishes to all. I was told to expect a few problems with Morgans. I wasn't expecting a laundry list. First, it came with the left side door that couldn't be opened at all. Also, the left side window wouldn't lower. On the first service, Phil corrected this. Sadly, on the way home, it decided to rain very heavily. But the wipers froze on the top setting, so I couldn't see very well. Phil had also forgotten to reconnect the window switch, so it was back to his. He sorted those, but now we have two new problems. Firstly, the plipper (remote locking) won't work. Secondly, the key, having locked and unlocked doors already, has decided to work no longer and is stuck permanently open. Is this level of unreliability standard, or am I extra unlucky?
