Tried finding this but failed if anyone has a link.

I would like a clock on the dash, but would be more likely to try lobotomy on swmbo to cure nagging then cutting a hole in the dash for a dial.

Ah....the Chronos one I think Phil. I had one in my 4/4 ( I think I might have started the trend!) and fitted one to the Roadster as a temporary measure until I plucked up courage to cut a hole! I have promised it to Graham...should look nice on Mellow Yellows dash wink

If anyone wants a Chronos clock I suggest they get one now. Chronos seem to have stopped making them although there are a few still out there on ebay or Amazon.

PS. The beauty of the Chronos is that its got a slim depth and the slip in holder can be secured with double sided tape if you don't want to drill a small hole for the mounting screw.

Or there's this, as I had on RTA's dash:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/OXFORD-ANALOGUE-...otorcycle+clock

Available in black, silver or titanium. Mine kept really good time.

Cheers,

As previously mentioned on the watch thread, I have a similar one although mine has both an elapsed time recorder and a stop watch. Astonishingly heavy for a aircraft clock, and if you have 27volts on the Morgan, a heating element too.

Anyway - I've never fitted it to a car, but it is complicated shape being circular, with two part circles added on. I'd strong suggest you make a blank from something like a cereal packet so you can get the hole correct with no fears. Then you can draw through the hole, cut the dash ever so slightly undersize and gently file the hole until the clock fits.

The bezal is not large, so the margin for error is small, hence my suggestion of making a cereal packet hole first.

In one of the photos, the clock is resting on a drawing of the hole I need to cut.

You are right Martyn....no real margin for error...the bezel is about 3mm. Measure many times, cut slightly small and gently file as you say! I'm going to do a trial fitting in a spare piece of MDF....my main worry is chipping of the surface.

Jay - that is VERY nice and will be an excellent point of interest on the dash. Please forgive me if you know this (and you probably do, given that you bought it from Ukraine; I write this only because it hasn't been mentioned so far), but the sub-dial is a stop-watch. TM won't accept Cyrillic characters so SEKUNDOMER = "stop-watch". The button on the right is labelled PUSK = "start", so I assume the red button on the left is "stop".

Quite correct Steve. The Red button is for winding the clock and adjusting the time.
The Silver button stop, starts and resets the stop watch with a push and turning the knob stops and starts the clock.

A bit more complex on the multi dial clocks which have a flight duration upper dial controlled by the Red Button.
