... and it's probably the cause of the glowing red headers after nothing more than a mildly sporting drive home at night. Whilst I admire the spectacle, I don't much care for the probably restriction to performance....

I am told it makes quite a difference, but getting the knocked-out baffles removed from the pipe might be a challenge. Whether you'd hear the rattling loose baffles over the probably much noisier exhaust, remains to be seen though.....!

That is the 140 cell (very restrictive catalytic convertor) - best removed and/or replaced to improve flow! Of course this may well hasten the end of the world as we know it.

400 cell in fact - proper fine filtering going on in there for sure - and all squeezed into a pipe the size of a small torch. Rubbish solution, but necessary to save the planet. I suspect that the first company that makes a perfectly matching CAT replacement pipe will sell them by the bucket-load. Shouldn't cost much surely?!

The CAT is the limiting factor in exhaust tuning. I'd be willing to bet that a de-CAT system would flow so much quicker, and still sound reasonable.

To lift the lid on the tin marked 'worms' again, does the fact that it's not classified as a four wheeled car allow an MoT without any emissions checking? There's certainly no emissions test on motorbikes & junking the CAT is the first thing people do when tuning.

Just to give the can of worms a good stir; does anyone know what the reaction of your average MOT station is going to be when faced with a M3W?
Will they have a clue which regulations to apply?

Good question:

According to VOSA a Trike over 450kg and or over 50cc is "Class 4" and this INCLUDES emission testing.

It is all here:
