I noticed in the technical specs for the 2012-2013 M3W that the rear tire size is listed as 175/55R16, however the rear tire on my 2014 model is 175/65R15.

Was the earlier tire size a misprint or did Morgan change the size of the rear wheel in the 2014 model year?

Very interesting - even the magazine reviews describe the 2013 as having a 16 inch tire. http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/convertibles/1208_2013_morgan_3_wheeler_first_drive/

Maybe the size changed in 2013 sometime.

Or maybe it was misprinted once and lazy journalists have just been copying from each other without bothering to check the actual cars?

A bit like the canard that the 4/4 was referred to before the war as a 4-4. A mistake printed in loads of books and articles with no evidence for it, and if you look at the actual cars and the factory build records they have 4/4 on them.

Possibly changed from 16" to 15" early in the development stage. Some very early cars had a disc brake on the rear hub and a narrower drive belt, if I remember right. These were soon changed to drum brake hubs and a wider belt.

I'd be amazed if they're not all 15" rear wheels.
