Must admit the BMW engine looks like a box , no sign of throttle bodies , plugs, manifold ......

It's a very clean modern look to an engine....which suits the Aero. Ruud's engine's looks though is what you want when you lift the bonnet of a Trad!

I got a missing a blanking plug on the engine block from my local BMW dealer Cotswolds. Free of charge, however they know us well running a BMW and Mini.

Do you know if they have anymore? Or if you have a part number to hand that would be awesome as my local dealer isn't far.

Well all the throttle bodies must be there under the modesty panels. If you wanted I guess you could remove the panels and go more "trad" with your Aero.

I've never been much of an engine cleaner and I am put to shame by those photos. I must mend my ways.

What is the best stuff to clean the engine/bay with?

That is a wonderful job you have done above and below the bonnet in making a Series 1 look its very best. In fact you have done a great job in bringing the Series 1 back to the top of the Talk Morgan news.
I would like my engine bay looking like that, but did you mention "elbow grease", is there not a magic bullet that you spray on and wipe off.

The bonnet wings, inside, seems to be in a different color.
It's just a primer or a "full" paint but different?
In mine they have the same color of the rest of the car (even if it looks less finished)
