The dealer needs to check all the wiring.

Section x section - its a painstaking job which might be why they are just scratching their heads!!

This has got me wondering whether one ought to get a battery charger pack just in case. Advice/recommendations?

Had a similar problem, would run good for miles then die and not start then later would be fine, start no problem and run till it stopped again. Turned out to be a earth line from the fuel pump to the common earth block connector.

Thanks for the further messages, all. I will be passing on all suggestions as to what it might be to my dealer this morning.

Cheers. Have passed on Elcyd’s message in full to my dealer as it does sound like he had exactly the same problem. 🤞🤞🤞

Is one of these what you were considering? Not sure how this would help ShaunD

I think there was a thread discussing this.

Latest update: my dealer has checked the car all over and still can’t find anything wrong. The ECU is showing no error codes (as before). They took the car for a 50 mile spin and, of course, it performed flawlessly and they were not able to replicate the problem. Typical! The car is going to be returned to the factory tomorrow morning to see if they can work out what it is. Hopefully, Mark and his team will be able to sort it.

Could it be the fuel cut out switch, mine petered out a few weeks ago, the AA took it to my supplying dealer, he in turn rang me the next day and asked if i had been over a pothole or across a rough track as the fuel cut out switch had been triggered, i assured him i had'nt done either, but he was convinced that was the problem, as i was going on holiday that day i arranged for my son o collect it the next day, he duly collected it and 2 miles later it broke down in exactly the same way, the dealer collected it and this time they fitted a new fuel cut out switch and i am pleased to say no further problems so far.
