My clutch return spring on my last Mog broke within weeks of me buying it

I bought a new one from Rutters but never got round to the challenge of fitting it
Apparently winding the old off and the new one on is a finger and wrist breaker

So I left it broken and drove it for 3 years without any issues

Clutch returned fine without it

- UPDATE -

Today I finally replaced the clutch pedal spring and I can confirm that this job is really greasy and was quite fiddly, but in the end successful. By this occasion I also replaced the worn pedal rubbers. Thanks again for your support.

Well done

How did you get on winding the new spring on?

In my 2010 built Roadster Morgan fortunately changed the design of the pedals so that I was able to simply slip the spring on the tube at the bottom of the pedal.

Oh that’s good, I didn’t realise the pedal assembly had changed

And another update too...

At a very recent Factory visit, all the Roadsters in build I could find (3) had NO clutch return spring fitted

Hmmh, then it seems that I did an unnecessary repair job 😃

Karsten, I think you have done the right thing re-fitting yours on the 3.0 model

But I still can't get a tech answer to why some of the latest 3.7's have none
