Hi I am getting close to finishing my restoration of a 1969 Morgan 4/4 it is fitted with the Ford crossflow 1600gt ( competition) engine . Today’s issue is where does the throttle return spring on the carb fit ? Is there a bracket that should be fitted to the rocker cover ? Any ideas or photos much appreciated.

This is how mine is on 1971 4/4, an L shaped bracket from one of the manifold studs

If you are making your own bracket then why not make a setup with 2 springs?
A bit of insurance for one breaking.
It happened to me once. Managed the short trip home and afterthat kept a spare spring in the car as couldn’t be bothered fitting two.

Two are compulsory for competition driving.

Thanks for the picture. On my car (earlier crossflow engine the spring is right up against the rocker cover. I have managed to fit a smaller bracket though the inlet manifold attached to one of the fixing bolts. My carb has a torsion spring on the throttle spindle plus the tension spring I have now fitted so effectively it has the two return spring required.
