It took me considerably longer than 3 hours to fit mine! On my mid-2012 body/chassis I struggled with insufficient clearance around the rear chassis lugs which prevented the billet piece from slipping into place. in the end I needed to remove the steering rack to allow a different approach angle. Also, due to the inconsistencies of early chassis fabrication I needed to machine around 1.5mm off the rear of the nearside billet piece.



After I had the wishbones physically in place it took quite a while to set up the caster and camber angles with careful shimming either side of the rose joints to prevent lateral movement etc, etc. It is definitely an iterative process with each small adjustment seeming to effect everything else! I was fitting new ATR adjustable shocks at the same time which gave me more adjustment but was another variable thrown into the mix.

I used a small & inexpensive INCLINOMETER as recommended by Planenut to set the caster & camber and a home-made jig to set the wheel alignment.




Having said all this, the whole process has vastly improved the driving experience so I can heartily recommend the kit to everyone. I expect the installation would be much more straight forward for anyone with a later chassis.

As Bunny confirms, the pre 2014 chassis cars seem not to be built to the same tolerances as the post 2014 cars. I have a 2013 car that had a chassis change in 2015 and have fitted the Empire (now Krazy Horse) Kit to both. The early chassis required several shim washers to get things similar on each side even before we started on the adjustments with the rod ends. When I transferred the Empire Kit to the 2015 chassis it was all much closer and easier to set up. I don't have Bunnies carpentry skills, I just used the clino attached to to steel bits with the magnet and a Gunson Trakrite. The brake disc is handy for wheel angle. The M3W drives really nicely with a well set up Empire Kit and some decent shock absorbers and tyres, all the things Morgan still didn't fit on the final production M3W's

I’ve discovered the ground clearance at the front of my car below the tubes that the number plate mounts to is only 110 mm. Furthermore the bell housing reduces that by another 25 mm or so and that’s before I get in! There is a scrape mark where the bell housing has bottomed out on at least one occasion but no other marks on the underside of the car. Is this normal for a 2012 car? To the best of my knowledge it has red spax shocks on the front which appear to be adjusted to their softest setting, with the lower wishbones parallel with the ground. the car is running on Blockleys at 22 psi. Comments, especially with regard to early models would be much appreciated.

My old 2013 was set to 140mm clearance and my new 2021 is 150mm clearance (set by Krazy Horse). Both measured unladen from the bottom of the front number plate carrier and the bottom of the lower wishbone. No problems with ground clearance on either.
