Have a look at this post. http://www.talkmorgan.com/ubbthreads.php/galleries/626586 Unfortunately AZJowett didn't do the notes with a file size that is big enough to read easily but the photos are helpful. The "Bafflectomy" will make your M3W run better but it will be LOUD. Possibly better to cut out a baffle and try before removing everything. There are several people who have done this on here and I am sure they will advise. If you want free flowing exhaust and quiet, then I can confirm that the G56 option is very good, although expensive.

I believe the bafflectomy is the way to go at low cost to increase performance solve the over heating pipes and the noise can be controlled by number of baffles removed. The most restrictive baffle is the first baffle at the front, my recommendation is to remove this one it frees up the engine with not much increase in noise level. Reassemble then drive for a period of time to see how it suits you, removing the middle baffle will increase the noise level and give a little more performance, reassemble and test drive. Finally removing the rear baffle fully opens up the engine (when free flow air filter fitted) and gives a very throaty sound this is what I have done on my M3W and happy with the results. The link above gives good direction with parts needed, it really is quite simple and a cheap effective modification to the vehicle. I have driven with G56 fitted M3Ws and did not seem to be that much louder, when those drivers drove mine they said the performance seemed better, all for a fraction of the cost. As with all things Morgan each to their own, but do remember what goes out has to be compensated by what comes in to gain the best results.

I agree with Bruce. I have been using the AR exhaust system and wanted to try boring out the stock exhaust because the AR is so loud. After boring out the front two baffles in each muffler i tried it. Not a big difference in performance to the AR system. There are two baffles at the rear of each muffler that appear to have 5/16” diameter holes in them. In the very rear plate i bored them to 3/8” and the performance is good and just slightly less noisy than the AR pipes. The exit of the standard pipes is further behind the ear which is a good idea.

More important question: how do you keep your cap on? (I have to wear ones with chinstraps to avoid them flying off!)

Jonathan I did the bafflectomy 4 years ago only front baffle & 38mm hole cutter I think. This year the R/H exhaust was rattling. After a struggle I got it off tipped it up & the cat fell out. I thought best even things up so took L/H off, much easier & removed the LH cat which was reluctant to let go. Subjectively not much increase in noise over bafflectomy & it passed an MOT.
