So, what is the collective wisdom on the proper torque setting for this crank nut? ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2022/11/25/IMG_0969.jpeg) Phil B says about 440 lbft for a full sized nut is correct. FWIW when he refitted mine a few months ago he used a flat washer and loctite but no star washer

Red Leader, that is a heck of a lot of torque! Thank you.
I wonder how you can get that much torque on that nut? What kink of tool?

Can't remember what torque I tightened my one to, but it was definitely tight with a capital "F"

440 lb ft doesn't seem like the right torque to me, t seems to me that MMC says 24 mkg, for my 3w is 28 mkg.

Morgan state 170 lbs/ft, Phil Bleazey uses 440 lbs/ft, which I believe is based on the specified torque for a 7/8 UNF nut. Note though Morgan only use a half nut whereas Phil uses a full nut.
