Are we saying categorically the M3W bevel box does not have a hunting tooth ( or something similar) ratio in its gears ?

Thank you RICHARD V6 for supplementing information, moreover in the m3w 5 speed there were two types of teeth 1/2 the first model of teeth was much more inclined (2012) because in 2013 the teeth were larger and less inclined and machining a bit rude.
It also seems to me that the crown gear pinion ratio for the belt transmission is 1/2 corrected by the number of teeth of the belt.

If you know the specific number of teeth on CW & P you can check yourself given link I posted. Sorry but forgotten now what mine were.

First came across this engineering solution during a discussion on a Velocette I owned. The gears in drive to magneto were chosen to provide hunting tooth on later models. In this case it was particularly relevant as points of max load on driven device would otherwise relate to the same engaged teeth.

Hi Barkbark - happy to hear that this has been resolved. Useful to know for other owners.

Ah thanks - makes sense. Indeed agree with JMD - what were Quaife thinking?

Great news! Did it need to be done by your dealership/factory? Is it something I can check myself or ask my mechanic to do for me?

The conical torque ratio on the 5 speed is 15/30 - 1/2, on the first 2012 the oblique toothing made a tooth overlap of 1 1/2, later with the larger teeth the overlap of a single tooth was can cause more noise, the problem is if you are too meticulous and you put a marker on the teeth to see the correct support of the torque's teeth, you quickly realize that this does not always support the same right on the toothing of the toothed crown, the cause is bad machining.

I reassure you if you have a 365 GTB 4 BB or similar mechanically it is not better machined and in addition the teeth break frequently.

I purchased mine from Morgan Works at the Factory. The service department is at the same location as the Factory so whilst separate I guess has easy access to the people at the Factory as they are all part of the same complex and know each other / work with each other.
