My '74 4/4 has developed a crack in the water pump housing (maybe due to the cold weather but the antifreeze was good down to -20C). Do I need one specifically for the 1600 GT engine or will any 711M block pump do?

I think Ray is correct, but you could double check with BHM or New Elms smile

Yep, replaced mine last year and it was a standard Ford part I got from Burton Power.

It arrived without the the heater hose 'take off', but you can either take the old one of the old waterpump or buy a new one. I replaced mine with a straight, rather than a 90 degree one as I fitted a bleed valve in the heater hose at the highest point to remove any air from the system.

Any 711 crossflow will do, I fitted a new one to my crossflow last year because it started to squeal ( probably due to standing over winter)

Cheers. It has made it so much easier to remove any air from the system.

Any crossflow pump but not a pre crossflow pump.

Pre crossflow pumps are slightly wider
