I'm in the process of upgrading my 1955 Plus 4 to later 7HA type brakes

I'll have a pair of backplates for sale shortly with newly rebuilt wheel cylinders, adjusters and rear handbrake pull rods.

Will be selling as complete unit though, no splitting

Yesterday, actually, I got the front valance from Wolf Performance temporarily in place. I'll bolt it in after a bit more adjustment today.

Following the MIL indication last Sunday, it was diagnosed to be faulty EGR unit. Had my local garage replace it and now fine. A pig to get at, as it is on the end of the cylinder head at the back. Car has done 47k miles.

Installed the new floorboards today using the T-nut method in Fred Sisson's Bedside Reader. I made a very shallow counterbore on the top so the T-nut is flush with the surface. Thanks, Fred!!

Rebuilt a 3HA rear axle.

Crack tested the half shafts and lapped the hubs onto the shaft.

Mocked up the 7HA/Austin A60 type rear brake backplates. Found a 3mm spacer was needed so cut one out of steel plate with the gas axe and mounted it on stub mandrel in the lathe (actually an old kingpin - necessity being the mother of invention).

Drilled the spacer and lined every thing up.

Then my mate Big Dave turned up with a steering coupling he needed modifying for his BMW rally car so did that.

Will start on the axle again in the morning!!
