I seem to have some sort of vibration issue on the passenger side, underneath the armrest pad. It's quite loud at certain speeds. It's as though the panel, where it curves around over the frame, is vibrating against the frame itself. If, while driving, I reach over and grab that armrest area, the noise reduces considerably. I have removed the leather arm pad and it makes no difference to the vibration / noise.

Has anyone else experienced something similar? Not really sure what to do about it. Perhaps see if I can isolate the frame from the panel by placing a rubber strip between them?

Check the exhaust mounting bobbins for cracking.

This seems to be the area where the noise is coming from. If I grab the top of the arm rest hard, the noise diminishes or goes away. Given there is arm rest, metal chassis, wood frame, and plastic panel wrapping over, I'm not sure what exactly is making the noise. It's very loud when the speed / vibration frequency is just right (or wrong!).

The two rubber mounts under the exhaust on that side? I hadn't looked down there, but I suppose if one or both are cracked, any resulting excess movement might pull one surface onto another and cause the rattle? Is that your thinking?

Yes, if the exhaust is moving it could be exciting a vibration in the panel above. It's a bit of a long shot but a quick and easy check.

I took another look this morning. It seems to be coming from the wood rail that runs along the top side of the tube frame there, ie under the wrap around red panel. There's a fastener on the RHS of the photo that shows where that rail runs - it's not very wide. I could fasten through the panel to the rail so the panel doesn't vibrate as much but, given the tone and loudness of the noise, I think it's actually the wooden rail vibrating on the metal frame.

Anyone heard of this? No pun intended.

There are so many vibratory sounds on these machines I'm surprised one stands out above the rest.

You might try silicone between the parts to both stabilize them and dampen the vibrations.

LOL! VA still has a helmet requirement for three-wheelers, right? Depending on the style, that could reduce noise (for you) too!

I wear my helmet always. It is a 50 year plus habit of riding motorcycles.
