My feelings are similar to that of the +8 Manual Sinario, rather than condem the car it is possible the repair is that of equal to a Factory produced car. So no good condemning it unless you have inspected it.
The car is saleable, but at a price, the problem been, usually the rule of thumb is 2/3 of Net worth, unfortunately two many repairers work from retail as this is the guide they pick up from looking in Autotrader or in this case they will more than lightly researched previous Dealer advertising prices and cut a margin off that to 'in there view' make the car look cheap.
Next problem is a Dealer of such a caliber car would more than likely never touch it with a barge pole and would not want to be associated with such a thing.
In effect it lies in the replica value category, hence £40k
Dean, is it not slightly more serious than that? A Cat B car is not for road use and is meant to have been stripped for parts; surely that means the car should not be on the road, let alone for sale as a useable vehicle (repaired or not!).
The first comment in this thread quotes the then seller as mentioning, in essence, a loophole which would allow it back on the road. Now the current seller is stating Cat B.
To my mind, this is a little more than condemning a car without an inspection.
