To me it is varying levels of what is subjectively 'acceptable' when purchasing a car and this goes hand in hand with the type of car you are buying. The marque and its history you are buying in to gives leeway with certain issues; after all, no car is perfect.
Personally speaking I find paying several hundred quid for a DAB radio on an 80k mass-produced car to be unacceptable, yet that is what Jaguar ask you to do with the F-Type. I take more umbrage with feeling fleeced than most anything else...
The DAB is an option with Jaguar, maybe we should suggest they add 'Morgan style leaking roof' NCO and see how many people select it
