Just reality if you ask me. Who's going to stump up the thick end of £50K for a delivery mileage (
ie "used") sports car, in the depths of a snowy winter, unless he sees a significant - if not substantial - discount? I certainly wouldn't.
Better to get your deposit down and wait out the winter whilst the factory gets on with the business of building exactly what you want, and take delivery in the Spring. Unless, of course, the dealer (Stratstone in this case) makes it worth your while
As for MMC not allowing it ... they'd get seriously burned by the OFT if they were ever shown to be trying to restrict their dealers' right to price competitively.
