I flew to Aberdeen from Bedfordshire to pick up my new M3W and drive it back to Toddington with my wife today. 10 months old looking like new and 800 miles on the clock. But, sadly on the A92 near Kirkaldy all electrics failed and the mighty V spluttered and died. Battery flat, meter reading 11 volts and no charging. Fuses and all connections checked but to no avail. Our mighty adventure and first ever drive in the M3W was over after 2 hours! Recovery and a hire car some 3 hours later and we are now home minus the M3W. Morgan assistance no use as closed till 9am on Monday. Ace recovery people were great so now I need to know if local dealer Allon White need to have it and what is wrong. The alternator was the one item I could NOT see anywhere, so I suspect it's not an easy job! Any comments?
Sorry to hear this. There was a similar unfortunate post a while back on a new M3W. I think it was the stator that is buried inside the engine. I'll try and find the link.....
