Welcome to TM -- Mine is out in all weathers and it is perfectly happy! I do try and put the roof up if it is really raining (mostly just "soft days" here in Ireland!!) but I do find that if you just drive quicker, most of the wet goes over the top!! Cleaning just takes a wipe when wet if you have a good layer of polish on it. I do think it is important to have a good, dry and well-ventilated garage though.

Enjoy the new friend and just drive and try and wipe the silly grin off your face for the inevitable frequent photos!!
