They do actually have a seat belt warning on the driver's seat. If you look down on the side of the transmission hump you will see the cable.

The 2012 Plus 4 does not have a beep however I have had the warning light. It was fixed by the dealer. I suspect it was just a poor contact or a faulty connection.
