And the torque of a properly built turbo 4 pot would twist the chassis like spaghetti...

Not strictly true Simon. You allowed different engine mounts and torque tubes for block, gearbox and diff. So if positioned correctly it will be fine. A 2L turbo would work very well if set up correctly and heat management sorted
