Harald – A very neat elegant solution. Brilliant work and good luck with it.
My original thought was to try and install a small secondary compression springs (similar to rebound springs) to assist the main spring at the end of its movement and improve comfort. There’s a little space envelope just forward of the axle where something could possibly be squeezed in and using the hoop to take the loads. I played around with a couple of ideas. I got as far as installing and trying PU springs but they were too stiff and did not feel right. At that point I tried a new set of leaf springs which made a significant difference. I thought my problem had gone but I found the suspension would still very occasionally bottom particularly when carrying luggage. However for now these little progressive bump stops appear to offer just enough control to solve my issue.
are coming from an engineering background ?
I guess my spilling and gramer gave it away
