Well it's typical of the slapdash engineering at Morgan that nothing would be de- burred or a radius applied to the edge as I have done. I am not suggesting that they have to use radius gauges etc: a simple few passes of the file would at least take the sharp edges off for the sheet.
This lack of attention to detail and basic engineering practice is much in evidence throughought the 3W.
Any craftsman feels a pang of guilt when something is just not right. Whether it's a slightly rough edge or a scuff on a piece of wiring: you go back and do it again.
Morgan must take a hard look at themselves and their training of there so called craftsman. Quality does not always have to,cost huge amounts of money, or maybe it does!!!!
Interestingly I wonder how many of us are time served ex apprentices. Come on speak up.
I looked up an article on aircraft sheet metal working when making my repair. I wanted to know what thickness of sheet is appropriate as a baking piece. It should be the same as the sheet being repaired. I have to say I'm not convinced by the foil like material Morgan are using.
I'm still a fan despite yet another setback. However I am just resigned to getting the old girl up to scratch by our own endeavours.
