I spoke to OMEX to-day who confirmed, as I had been told by Techniques that the ecu for this model was not "re-mappable" (if thats the word!) by an aftermarket tuning firm and that I should go back to Morgan!
As per my earlier post on the other thread; they would have, or should have, also advised that the car should have been delivered with a program on a DVD that would allow a qualified dealer to make the basic adjustments.
The advice to go through your dealer of choice, or Morgan, to resolve the problem is correct. The mapping was developed for, and paid for by Morgan (the mapping and ECU were the only parts of the car supplied by Omex). As such the mapping, or better the calibration, is Morgan's proprietory property and they requested that parts of the ECU be password protected.
Omex is aware that some Plus 4 SS cars suffer from excessive fumes and emissions problems but they do not know why. It may just be a matter of correct adjustment or there may be variations in production by comparison to the prototype used for development.
It really is the case that Morgan needs to work with them to resolve the problem.
I do not have any relationship with Omex other than that as a customer for the throttle body kit I have fitted to my Plus 4.
