I believe in the power of education and learning, it is this that will gradually bring Muslims into the 21st century, and it won't be achieved if we do what the terrorists want and set Muslims against non-Muslims in some kind of holy war.
I agree - but unfortunately I don't think it's going to happen through education. We can't really sit back whilst we try to educate fanatics who are hell-bent on destroying us. Fundamentalists are kind of hard to get through to...
Meanwhile the Muslim population is doubling every decade in the UK - and, I assume, so does the proportion of fundamentalists amongst them.
It's an interesting debate when sublime tolerance meets savage intolerance.
