If the French Unions couldn't force the French Government to act there is zero chance of Cameron's lot doing anything.
Sorry Peter but thats just not correct. There still is a major steel industry in France. As there is in Germany and in Italy. Even in Holland. Port Talbot is the last bulk steelmaking plant in Britain. If that shuts there is nothing much left bar a few small arc plants.
