if it is the original Morgan tool then no, a socket won't fit it.It is a hollow tube with two holes aligned which the breaker bar goes through.
Whilst not entirely necessary,the
'Lionel tool' 
is (to my mind) ,a much more elegant solution which allows for the use of a range of socket/breaker bars/torque wrench/etc.
I think they will be circa £60 approx. ,delivered which ,considering they are bespoke and machined from aircraft grade alloy is not too bad a price.
I'm guessing that if Lionel gets a few orders the price may come down a little - best bet is to give him a call...
I should probably state that I have no connection to Lionel - just spotted this from a while back and decided to purchase one
