If so, unless MMC has taken to fitting a coffee can complete with the grinds intact..as opposed to a modern silencer...then removing either won't add to performance.
Basically, baffles and cats were thought to be restrictive, the more back end pressure, the harder the engine works to expel burnt gasses. But, as I said, modern exhaust components have virtually eliminated this, back end pressure is negligible in higher performance exhaust components.
Taking the cat off will result in increased smell and smoke. Taking the baffles out...if they serve the same function as a US "muffler" will result in more exhaust noise, which may or may not be desirable (but certainly harmless).
This is one of those things I have experience with on cars, including before and after instrumentation..and the performance change was non existent. The increased noise, rising with acceleration, made it FEEL faster, but that was aural, not actual.
Bottom line: +1 for removing baffles, -1 for removing cat.
