I have bought all of my private plates direct from the DVLA, they actually work out cheaper than from a 3rd party as the transfer fee is included in the price.
I would like a dateless plate one day, but they only sell those via auctions and it appears to be difficult to search/find anything relevant..😔
I bought my dateless plate from the for sale section on TM, 44 YYX not particularly relevant to anything but a nice fifties plate. Paid about £700. DVLA auctions often have similar meaningless plates with estimates at similar prices.
