the desire/need to keep absolute originality is high on the cost factor for a car.
If it is a unique car or one with special history then perhaps a cost to consider.
If the car is a standard off the line one then if an upgrade/new engine/mods is needed to keep it on the road then provided you are happy with the cost then go ahead. Perhaps the monetary return on the upgrade costs may not be there but if I was enjoying the car then no problem. It might be an alternative to get another car.
When I had the '93 4/4 I was looking at changes/upgrades. Should I spend on the car or change to another?
I was drawn to a Plus8 so spent on that instead. There are a couple more upgrades to be done on her but really only when they coincide with a need to change parts. Then, look to the upgrade.
I did that with the shocks. Upgraded to AVO from Tim Ayers when my original Konis at the rear needed changing. Got all 4 done.
Would I change the Plus8?
HMMMMMM......
I like the new Plus8.
The Roadster looks good too.
So does the M3W.
Oh dear!!!!!!
Dilemma time.
