I guess it's mostly down to if you're an enthusiast or an investor.....
Mines tucked up for the winter and I won't use it again until the sun is shining.
Nothing to do with keeping the mileage low, I just don't enjoy driving it in the cold/rain.
Not owned the car a year yet so can't really give an informed opinion, but not too concerned about mileage going up.
