The other nice thing that will appeal to map-lovers like you and me is that you can go on to Google Maps, set out a route that takes you on the roads you want to go on, and you can then convert the route to a GPX file and download it to the SatNav.

I used it yesterday to plot a very quiet B road route to Bicester and back, and it worked very well.

One of the things on my bucket list is to drive to the South of France avoiding the peage - I hope to do it one day, but would definitely need this type of thing.


I've had that facility on my bike Garmin for at least 10 years. You can either plot on Google Earth or use Garmi Basecamp on the PC and then squirt it down to the satnav.
