Its plenty quick enough and it's way more enjoyable everywhere in the performance envelope.
The other thing is you can't just jump in and drive it quickly - the handling takes some getting used to - but once you understand how to get the best out of it you can hammer along back roads at a fair lick - a modern day "Bertie & Wooster go to a mad aunt's for a week" type of car.
Also they're extremely practical for weekends away - the boot is positively huge (if you leave the roof on) - and as long as you are cruising on the motorway at sensible speeds the air-con is very effective. Its also possibly one of the most fuel efficient V8s ever built!
