Never been keen on these as they don't handle and are rather bling for my taste.
I have never seen one in metal but I was liking the idea of the small manufacturer etc.

Ale_72, I don't think you're missing much. The bag is actually canvas and not leather as I initially thought. It contains a wheelbrace and a jack - not much use in a car without a spare wheel
My guess is that it may have been added along the way and never came with the car in the first place???
