Drive it home! Do your own PDI before starting off and have a contingency / breakdown recovery plan. Choose a nice route. Stop for a break halfway to readjust clothing, ear plugs, helmet vs hat /goggles, sun cream, and any necessary driver servicing. When home, enjoy thinking what you would fix or change, and where you will drive next...
For helmets just use what you have already. See the helmet thread for what others use. ...
