Sadly now that the engine has been removed, it can be seen that the chassis is cracked all the way through and will have to be replaced. Since the car is already pretty much all in bits, I have asked if RD Racing can replace the chassis. This is the sort of work they are very qualified to do. It seems stupid to have to reassemble the car to have it shipped back to the UK, only to have to take it apart again. I understand that Morgan do not pay for the transit costs which will be in excess of €2000. I expect that "no" will be the answer for me, which will be a total waste of my money of around €3000 for the re-assembly and transport. I am actually pretty angry about this. Firstly the totally incompetent and useless previous local Morgan service agent, who messed me about for well over a year, failing to check the car when I first asked in August 2015. Secondly having spent a lot of money on work to date on the car, which is now pretty much money p****d away. I wonder if anyone has taken Morgan to court to try and recover all the costs of the chassis replacement. If nothing else it would be covered by EU consumer legislation. The car has only done 6500km.
