Howard, like me, will very likely be extremely reluctant to fit a broad band amplifier - they tend to amplify all sorts of other signals not in the TV and vhf fm radio broadcast bands.
So what effect would that have on anything else in the house?
I guess Graham is referring to me being a radio ham, and if the amplifier is that broad a band, it could feed back my trnsmissions into the TV. But in reality its no problem because I rarely use tha ham radio.
Ivor found me at Curborough today, so I have given a direct verbal answer to the question.
Of course it's not just in your own house - but neighbours may well fit such things and then complain of interference, when the problem lies in their own installation. Not just amateur radio, but potentially any transmissions outside of the vhf fm / tv bands.
