Highly recommend Amazon's stick or box - they work a treat.

+ if anybody else is using the internet while you're watching TV (& a must if you're with Virgin) then it's worth setting the modem into er modem mode - and putting a router in front of it.

The box your broadband provider gave you does two things - it's a modem & a router.

The chips in the boxes that your broadband provider gives you are unlikely to be the most powerful thing out there. In particular, the Virgin chip on more recent boxes can overload itself, stall, and go into a maintenance routine to restore your service. Meanwhile, your tv programme hangs.

You'll find that your broadband is faster.
I used this setup when I had two gaming teenagers & 2.5mb broadband.

Glad to say the teenagers are gone, and I now have 320mb :-)

ps For what it's worth, I send t'internet from router to tv through the electricity sockets, and then a wired connection to an Amazon box.
