I've been having the same thoughts about my Zetec engined 4/4.

I bought an inline valve from Car Builder Solutions and I'll plumb it in next time I drain down the cooling system.

I was planning to keep it simple and use it as an on / off valve depending on the average prevailing weather conditions.

I.e. off in the summer and on in the winter etc.

Only wish I'd done it before this hot spell.
